About me
Karl Bushby began his adult life as a British Paratrooper, following his family’s long military tradition. He joined the army at 16 and served for 12 years before setting out on his greatest challenge — the Goliath Expedition.
Adventure had always been central to Karl’s life. His years in the army took him to far horizons, deepening his passion for exploration.
In 1997 he left the military and, eight months later, stood at the edge of South America in Punta Arenas, Chile — the farthest point from home. On November 1, 1998, with just $500, no sponsors, and two rules — to use no transport and not return until he’d walked home — he took his first steps north on a 35,000-mile journey.
